Key West: the brushstrokes of Blue HeavenMaggie Ruley- Key West Artist Greetings friends, and lovers of all things Key West. Im excited to show you my latest painting, a vibrant acrylic painting that encapsulates the very spirit of Key West's iconic Blue Heaven. This canvas, titled "Blue Heaven Days: Rooster's View," beckons you to embark on a visual journey to the historic Bahama Village neighborhood where the charm of Blue Heaven meets the gaze of a watchful rooster. Did you know my first studio on the island was in the Blue Heaven building (1985- 1996) before it was the restaurant? At first it was basically a hodgepodge of various small artist’s studios. And then for a number of years I was the only tenant in the building. Then, the restaurant took a lease in the building and started the revitalization of the neighborhood. Eventually I was gentrified out (no hard feelings) and found other work spaces. This painting is a small memory of those times and Key West's cultural and artistic legacy. The lively strokes and vivid hues transport you to the bygone days when Ernest Hemingway partook in boxing events at Blue Heaven. The iconic Blue Heaven building, the entrance to the water tower bar, and a rooster's presence all converge to create a captivating tableau of Key West's unique charm. If you enjoy local painting with a story, this is your opportunity to own a piece of Key West's character. It's not just fun local art:; it's a conversation starter, a testament to the island life's vibrant energy. And for fans of Ernest Hemingway, this piece holds a historical connection to the literary giant, making it a unique and meaningful addition to your collection. Make this painting yours and infuse your space with the lively spirit of Key West. "Blue Heaven Days: Rooster's View" is not just art; it's an invitation to own a piece of history, to celebrate the artistic legacy of Blue Heaven, and to bring the island's charm into your daily surroundings. Dive into the hues of Key West and let the canvas tell the tale! Secure your piece of the island today. XOXO, Maggie PS. This is one of a kind, and no prints or reproductions will be available.
