If you’re in Key West this week, First Friday on Fleming Street is a great way to spend your evening. On Friday, May 1, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m., shops, galleries, boutiques, and restaurants along Fleming Street stay open late. Many offer refreshments, specials, and a relaxed, walkable experience through one of Key West’s most local neighborhoods. I’ll be participating from my studio and gallery, and you’re invited to stop in. Visit a Working Artist Studio in Key West. My space is a real, working studio—not a polished retail shop. When you visit, you’ll see paintings in progress, finished work on the walls, and the everyday rhythm of an artist at work. I paint colorful, contemporary paintings and wall art inspired by island life—palm trees, cottages, sky, water, and the small details that make Key West feel the way it does. Fresh off the easel—wall art featuring oysters, color, and a little Key West attitude. This one’s all about loose brushwork and letting the paint do its thing. About the ArtistMaggie Ruley is a longtime Key West artist known for her colorful, contemporary paintings inspired by island life. She works primarily in acrylic and oil, capturing the feeling of Key West through bold color, loose brushwork, and a fresh, modern approach.
