Before I became a Key West artist
I was very fortunate to grow up in the small town of Metuchen, New Jersey. I went to the University of Arizona in Tucson to study anthropology and ended up a potter. I have had the great fortune to know many wonderful artists who have helped and influenced me here in Key West and in Tucson. Now I have the great pleasure to be a grandmother. Here I am with the delightful Miss Kathryn Ruley.

I came to Key West in 1985 and set up a small pottery and painting studio in the Blue Heaven building on the corner of Thomas and Petronia Street in Bahama Village. It was so small (How small was it?) I called it Dragonfly - A Tiny Art Studio. These days the Blue Heaven restaurant uses it as wine storage. My studio rent was $75.00 a month. Those were the days. After the restaurant moved in and became a booming business and the neighborhood began to upscale, I was gentrified out. The studio has moved around a little and is currently on Lower Sugarloaf key. Through all of these moves I have continued to develope my line of tropical pottery and paintings.
